Vitinha, the 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, stopped in the mixed zone after PSG’s 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich this Tuesday at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of the 2025-2026 Champions League semi-final (second leg on Wednesday, May 6). Kylian Mbappé’s famous phrase, “eat well, sleep well,” was also mentioned.

Vitinha: “We’re happy to have won, but it was only by one goal, and we saw today that it doesn’t mean anything.”

What are your feelings after the match?

They’re positive. We’re happy, we won against Bayern, which is very difficult. We saw a great, great football match. I think it was the best I’ve ever played in, at least one of the best. These are two very strong teams in a very important part of the competition. We’re happy to have won, but it was only by one goal, and we saw today that it doesn’t mean anything. We’ll go into the return leg with the same desire and the same mindset as against Chelsea or Liverpool.

Vitinha: “We shouldn’t have any regrets, but keep this momentum going.”

It was a very spectacular match. What do we say to each other in the locker room afterward?

Above all, we’re tired (laughs). But we’re happy. We were down, we won. We managed to score a lot against a team like that, one that doesn’t concede much. Now, we need to rest, eat well, and sleep well (laughs). It’s a cliché, but it’s important, it’s true. That’s what we’ll say. In Munich, we’re going to play a great match, I’m sure of it. But it will be difficult.

Any regrets about having been up by three goals?

That’s true, of course we would have preferred a three-goal lead. But that’s how it is, it’s difficult to play against Bayern, they’re a great team. We shouldn’t have any regrets, but keep this momentum going and have the same mindset for the return leg.

Vitinha: “Of course, there are certainties”

Certainties or doubts?

Of course, there are certainties, we still won 5-4! (smiles) What we did is incredible, they deserve credit too. We’re going to Munich, it will be the final before the final.

Did Zaire-Emery’s substitution hurt? It’s the moment of conceding goals.

No, I don’t think so. There were the goals, there was the free kick. Bayern were down by 3 goals, they wanted to do something. We also wanted to hold onto the lead. We’re all doing well, we deserve congratulations. We have to do the same thing in Munich.
