Désiré Doué, the 20-year-old midfielder/forward for Paris Saint-Germain, spoke to Ligue1+ after the 1-0 victory against Brest this Sunday at the Parc des Princes in Matchday 33 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season.
Doué: “We even had to stop the match for a bit.”
Was it an important victory?
Yes, it was very important to win tonight, and that’s what we did. We played a very focused match, so we’re happy. We had a great attitude. The fans were behind us from start to finish, and we thank them. They always support us, and we thank them. We even had to stop the match for a bit (smiles). The atmosphere is phenomenal, and we thank them.
Does securing the title early take the pressure off before going to Lens?
The sooner the better, obviously. If we can clinch the title tonight, we’ll take it, even if it means missing out on the win on goal difference. We have to go to Lens and win before facing Paris FC.
Doué: “We congratulate them, they’re having a magnificent season.”
Lens, a rehearsal before the Champions League final?
They’re a very good team, but it’s nothing like that. A Champions League final is truly unique. With all the matches played this season, I don’t think there will be one like it. It’s Ligue 1, against Lens, we’ll have to be very focused, they’re a very good team. We congratulate them, they’re having a magnificent season. We’ll have to go there and win.
Doué: “I’m thriving. I want to continue to progress and grow here.”
Your 100th match at PSG? Any thoughts on it?
Honestly, it’s pure joy. I’m thriving, I’m improving, and I hope to play many more matches for PSG.
Any standout moments?
Yes, of course. The Champions League final is definitely a highlight. There are many other moments too. Every day, I’m thriving, going to training. We have a fantastic group. That’s why I’ve been playing since I was little; I’m very happy. I’m fulfilled. I want to continue to improve and grow here.
