On Saturday evening, Paris Saint-Germain hosted Le Havre AC for Matchday 13 of Ligue 1. Temporarily relegated to second place in Ligue 1, Luis Enrique’s men needed a win to reclaim the top spot. And the Red and Blues did so in style, securing all three points against HAC with a 3-0 victory. Didier Digard, the Normandy club’s coach, spoke to L1+ after the match:

Digard: “I think the players didn’t believe enough.”

More frustration or satisfaction?

More frustration at the moment. Perhaps when we realize we put in a good performance at the Parc des Princes, there will be satisfaction. But there is the frustration of not scoring. At some point, you have to score.

Any positives?

Yes, we’ve made progress. We’ve made progress in our desire to move forward, to create chances, to be ambitious. But we need to do even more. I think the players didn’t believe in it enough.

“I wanted to leave without frustration, and I do.”

An attacking strategy?

The goal was to field as many attacking players as possible to apply high pressure. They’re a team that takes risks, even if their approach is paying off as European champions. We had some opportunities, but we lacked precision. I wanted to leave without frustration, and I do.

Was Beraldo targeted in the attacks?

No, not at all. The goal was to shut down their counter-attacks, force them forward, and avoid long periods of possession, which are tiring. Our tactical patterns led us to attack down that side, but Beraldo wasn’t the target.
