Paris Saint-Germain and RC Lens faced off late Sunday for Matchday 4 of Ligue 1. A match in which the Parisians suffered numerous injuries, but logically won 2-0 (see video recap). Jonathan Gradit, defender for the Sang et Or, spoke to beIN SPORTS to reflect on the match:
Gradit: “They have such a monopoly on the ball”
It was tough, but were there chances?
Yes, it’s quite frustrating in terms of the match and the way they looked because they didn’t have many chances. They were clinical every time, and we had chances but didn’t convert, so of course it’s frustrating. They have such a monopoly on the ball, it’s so hard to take it from them. They have a very strong counter-press, and we knew we had to play the perfect match, and we didn’t. Despite everything, we put in a good performance, even if we’re leaving with a defeat.
Is a 30% success rate too low?
Yes, but we have to avoid getting caught up in the attackers because if we have chances, it’s because they’re creating them, so that’s already a positive. It’s frustrating in terms of the match because we had chances, and it’s a shame.
