On Tuesday, in the second leg of the 2025-2026 Champions League quarter-finals, Paris Saint-Germain faced Liverpool at Anfield. After a match where the Parisians utterly dominated, they won 2-0. Here are our player ratings for the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Matvey Safonov (6) – Very enterprising, he took risks on his clearances and relieved pressure on his team. He was rarely called upon overall.
Defenders –
Achraf Hakimi (6) – Always very good, he once again covered a lot of ground on his flank. A little less inspired offensively, he never gave up.
Marquinhos (6) – A fairly quiet match for him.
Willian Pacho (6.5) – The rock had another very good match, solid, powerful, and strong in duels.
Nuno Mendes (6) – His speed compensates for quite a few things, especially in An evening where he wasn’t at his best. Even so, he managed to do some good things and trouble his opponent.
Midfielders –
Joao Neves (6) – A good start to the match, very active, then he played his game, without any real brilliance until his superb pass to Kvaratkhelia for PSG’s second goal. A valuable player in all circumstances.
Vitinha (7) – He spent the evening trying to draw Liverpool out, and he succeeded at times. On the other hand, he controlled the ball movement like a metronome.
Warren Zaïre-Emery (7) – Flawless physical work rate. He shut down Liverpool’s midfield. A great match in midfield from him in his 39th consecutive start.
Forwards –
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (7) – Defensively, he battles like a defender, he also has great technique and is capable of scoring goals with composure. A A complete player, a player for the big occasion.
Ousmane Dembélé (5.5) – Unfortunately for him, he missed two crucial one-on-ones. He blamed himself. We also have to judge him on his less polished performances. His runs deep still caused Liverpool problems. Substituted by Lucas Hernandez in the 88th minute.
Désiré Doué (6.5) – A bit lucky with his goal, but the main takeaway is that he scored again in a decisive match. He’s making history. Very disciplined, he had a good game. He can still do better. Substituted by Lee Kang-in in the 77th minute.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (7) – It’s worth repeating, but he has transformed PSG. Today, there’s no more fear, they take on matches with confidence, and they win. He continues to terrorize English clubs. A great performance from his team, even if he might leave feeling a little frustrated. Paris could have done better in this score.
