Paris Saint-Germain defeated Nantes 3-0 this Wednesday at the Parc des Princes in a rescheduled match from Matchday 26 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. After the match, PSG defender and captain Marquinhos (31 years old) spoke to reporters in the mixed zone.
Marquinhos: “It feels good”
Is it important to bounce back after the defeat against Lyon and before the match against Bayern Munich?
That’s the mentality we showed in today’s match. We dropped points at home in the last match, and we mustn’t do that again. Today, it was important to get back to winning ways, to regain the energy we need at the end of the season.
The title is still up for grabs, and Lens isn’t giving up. They’re very strong, and we have to congratulate them on the season they’re having. This is good for us because it also pushes us to work harder and always perform well. It was important to win today.
Marquinhos: “We mustn’t think like that.”
A small cushion in Ligue 1?
What do you mean? A small advantage? In 13 years in France, I’ve never heard that (laughs).
Is the title already decided?
We mustn’t think like that. I think we’ve seen how quickly the situation can change. We don’t have too many points ahead; we need to string together wins to become champions as soon as possible. That’s the objective. It’s a very difficult league; we haven’t always had competition like this.
Lens is having a great season, which is very good for us to work hard and stay focused. We only have important matches until the end of the season, in Ligue 1 and the Champions League. It’s up to us to recover well and for the coach to make the choices so we can be at our best, with a team that fights for victory.
Marquinhos: “We have to make the most of it, fight for every ball and every title.”
Ready for Bayern?
There’s one match left against Angers before the one against Bayern. We’ve been working since the beginning of the season to get to this point, with titles to play for. We’re in the best moment of the season, we have to make the most of it, fight for every ball and every title. We have to take it step by step; there’s Angers with an open title race. We have to prepare well and be in good shape for the match against Bayern.
Which is the better goal, Doué or Kvaratskhelia?
Both are beautiful, it’s a tough call (smiles). I like Kvara’s; you have to be cool in the box. But Désiré’s goal is incredible. I was a little too far away to see it properly.
