Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain (6th), held a press conference this Wednesday ahead of facing Newcastle (7th) at the Parc des Princes tomorrow (kick-off at 9pm, CET) as part of the 8th matchday of the 2025-2026 Champions League. On the sidelines of this event, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “We’re used to playing these matches. We prepare well.”
What’s the mindset for the final match?
You can feel the difference before playing a match of this level. In training, the atmosphere is different. But there’s nothing to it. We’re used to playing these matches. We prepare well, and we’re very happy to have players back. That’s always very good news.
Luis Enrique: “We’ll need that feeling of being all together.”
A very difficult match?
Of course, they’re not a Pot 4 team, it’s incredible. They’re in the top 8. And in that top 8, there are several teams from our draw. That’s how it is, it’s difficult, we have to adapt. Tomorrow, with our fans, we’re ready for a different kind of match. Especially towards the end, both teams need a win. The fans need to be fully aware of that. We’ll need that feeling of being all together.
