This 11th matchday of Ligue 1 took place at the Parc des Princes, with Paris Saint-Germain hosting OGC Nice. The Red and Blues secured a narrow victory, edging out Nice by the smallest of margins, in a match they dominated but ultimately shut down (1-0). Nice defender Melvin Bard spoke to beIN SPORTS just seconds before the final whistle to discuss this heartbreaking defeat:
Melvin Bard: “We have to be disappointed, but not too much.”
The almost perfect plan?
We cracked in the final moments, which is frustrating, unfortunately. But that’s how it goes. We still showed character. It wasn’t enough, but we have to focus on the positives and move on. We’ll move forward.
What message did you give your teammates?
We have to stay positive. Paris is the best team in France. We should be disappointed, but not too much. We have to focus on the positives. We’ll keep working.
A change in the last fifteen minutes?
It was tough throughout the match. We held on as long as we could. The substitutes were decisive, but it wasn’t any harder than at the start. But they were decisive.
