On Saturday evening, the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain and OL Lyonnes faced off at the PSG Campus during the 5th round of the 2026-2027 Première Ligue Arkéma season. Following PSG’s defeat (0–4), Parisian head coach Paulo César spoke to PSG TV.
Paulo César: “An opponent better than us”
“We saw an opponent that was better than us in every aspect—both with and without the ball. They possessed superior technical quality. We managed to create some promising moments to break out from under pressure, but we failed to capitalize on them.”
Paulo César: “We will analyze the match to draw the right lessons.”
“This is a difficult defeat—our first of the season. It’s only the 5th matchday; we need to keep working—it’s still early. We must put in the effort to secure points and maintain positive momentum. I have to acknowledge that the players never gave up, even when things were tough. I’m pleased with that. Moving forward, we’ll get back to work and look at areas for improvement. We’ll analyze everything to ensure we learn the right lessons.”
“I want to thank the supporters; they kept pushing right until the end. They helped ensure the girls didn’t concede any further goals. I’m grateful to them. Unfortunately, this defeat hurts.”
