This Friday, during Matchday 8 of Ligue 1 2025-2026, Paris Saint-Germain faced Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes. After a match where the Rouge et Bleu struggled, despite their overall dominance, they drew 3-3. Here are our ratings for the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Lucas Chevalier (3) – We can’t say he was particularly decisive in Strasbourg’s two goals. He did, however, make a very nice double save in the first half. He’ll still have to get back into his season, although it’s difficult to respond immediately after his arrival.
Defenders –
Warren Zaïre-Emery (7) – We saw Zaïre-Emery in action at times. It’s good to see him at this level, even if he still needs to do more to regain a starting spot. He succeeded in his gamble, letting himself loose more, and the fact that he played in midfield, without having to play on the right, did him good. A central role that suits him well.
Ilya Zabarnyi (4) – A first half in which he wasn’t very good. He struggled. He has a good technical range. It’s a shame he missed out on his duel with the Strasbourg attackers.
Lucas Beraldo (4) – Like his teammate, he struggled against an inspired Strasbourg attack. He finished his match well with a very nice pass for Doué, who earned the penalty. But he was generally well pushed around by the Alsatian attacks. Replaced by Willian Pacho in the 61st minute.
Lucas Hernandez (6) – He had a decent first half. He showed his mettle on his wing, but didn’t contribute offensively, which is understandable. He also lost a few duels. He’s getting better and better; it takes time, and it’s nice to see him keep coming back. It’s good for his confidence.
Midfielders –
Senny Mayulu (6) – In a new role for him, mostly as Hakimi, he struggled to find his place and his teammates. He was better in the second half, managed to score and equalize, and that made a big difference in his performance. He didn’t give up. Replaced in the 88th minute by Nuno Mendes.
Lee Kang-in (6) – He was a Lee. Clean (too much), predictable (often), he clearly has quality, but in PSG matches, his performance is often too poor to be impactful. He took more risks in the second half, hit the post, and delivered a few good balls.
Désiré Doué (6) – An assist, a passing error, a wasteful pass, and some nice moves—it was a near-complete comeback for him in the first half. He earned the penalty that got his team back on track. Replaced by Quentin Ndjantou in the 61st minute.
Forwards –
Bradley Barcola (6) – Accurate, a goal-scorer, with a desire to fight and make Strasbourg’s defense suffer, we saw a good Barcola in the first half. Due to time management, he didn’t play the entire match, and we saw a slight drop in form in the second half. Replaced by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 61st minute.
Gonçalo Ramos (4) – As is often the case when he’s a starter, he rarely touches the ball and struggles to be decisive. This is a real problem. He scores his penalty, but overall, he lacks confidence. He struggles to exist.
Ibrahim Mbaye (4) – Too discreet, too messy, he still has some steps to take in his game to become more precise. He still has some great qualities, and they’re better used; his first half could have been completely different. He’s fighting hard, but he’s very wasteful. This was confirmed in the second half.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (5) – He has the great merit of being fearless, of bringing in young players, of giving his players confidence. Technically, he’s not as strong as PSG in the Champions League final, but the style remains the same. This team never gives up.
