Ndjantou: “I was eager to start this match.”

Were you surprised to learn that you were going to start this match?

I wasn’t surprised, but I was especially eager to start this match. It shows that the coach sees my efforts in training, and I’m definitely very happy to have started this match. On the pitch, I tried to repay the confidence that the coach gives me.

Ndjantou: “It’s nothing new.”

Was it a surprise how you’re positioned as a striker?

I’ve always played in this position; it’s where I started playing football. It’s nothing new, and I’m back in this position today. I’m very happy; I’m versatile, and the coach uses that to get the team playing well.
