In the 10th round of the French Ligue 1 championship, Paris Saint-Germain hosted ESTAC Troyes, securing a 1-0 victory at the Parc des Princes. Speaking to PSG TV, 24-year-old Parisian defender Illya Zabarnyi discussed the win and his goal.
Zabarnyi: “We’re just continuing to work, doing our job.”
“We’re in great shape, in good physical condition, and we just need to keep it up. Everything is clicking within the team. We haven’t done anything extraordinary; we’re simply continuing to work, doing our job, and now it’s our moment. I’ve worked hard, stayed focused, and now I’m getting match time. I think I’m playing well, so I deserve this.”
It was a significant win and an equally important goal for the Ukrainian defender, Zabarnyi. The goal will be a major confidence booster and highlights his effectiveness in front of the net—a notable asset, as set-pieces serve as a genuine weapon. The capital club concludes this month of competition with a victory that keeps them at the top of the league table.
Riding a wave of confidence, the Parisians maintain their unbeaten record, both domestically and in Europe. The upcoming international break will also be beneficial for a squad that is clearly brimming with self-assurance. They will, of course, need to sustain this momentum on November 21—following the international break—against OGC Nice, before turning their attention to a Champions League clash against AS Roma at the Parc des Princes.
