At the end of each Paris Saint-Germain match during the month of January, as we now always do (based on the podiums for each match), we asked people to vote for the “Player of the Month”. Ousmane Dembélé (27-year-old striker) came out on top.
As a reminder, the matches in January were:
PSG/Monaco (1-0), PSG/Saint-Etienne (2-1), Espaly/PSG (2-4), Lens/PSG (1-2), PSG/Manchester City (4-2), PSG/Reims (1-1), Stuttgart/PSG (1-4).
A fine victory for Dembélé, who made his mark in January with a number of goals. It’s all the more impressive given that it’s not his usual style. Everyone is now waiting to see if he can continue.
João Neves (20-year-old midfielder) is a very fine 2nd, with yet more all-round performances, particularly the sparkling one against Manchester City. Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right-back) also proved once again that he is a key member of this team.
We’d like to thank you for your votes, and point out that the podium finishes for these “Player of the Month” awards will count towards the title of best player of the season, as you’ll need to have been on the podium at least 1 time to be among the nominees.
