At the end of each Paris Saint-Germain match during the month of October, as we now always do (based on the podiums for each match’s player of the month election), we asked people to vote for the “player of the month”. João Neves (20-year-old midfielder) came out on top.
As a reminder, the matches in September were :
Arsenal/PSG (2-0), Nice/PSG (1-1), PSG/Strasbourg (4-2), PSG/PSV Eindhoven (1-1), OM/PSG (0-3).
A second consecutive success for Neves, who is clearly making a name for himself at PSG. With his fighting spirit, vision and technical ability, the Portuguese is gradually becoming a darling of the Parisian fans. In October, he also scored his first Paris goal in the Classico. The perfect way to round off the month.
Behind him, Achraf Hakimi (25-year-old right-back) has established himself as a key figure for Paris. He has improved defensively and remains a great attacking threat. In 3rd place, for the second time in a row, Willian Pacho (23-year-old defender) confirms that he is one of this summer’s top recruits. Let’s hope he can keep it up.
Bradley Barcola (22-year-old striker) may have paid for his somewhat disappointing performances in the Champions League.
We’d like to thank you for your votes, and point out that podium finishes for these “Player of the Month” awards will count towards the title of best player of the season, as you’ll need to have been on the podium at least 1 time to be among the nominees.
