The Portugal Football Globes ceremony took place this Monday evening to honor key figures in Portuguese football. Three Paris Saint-Germain players received the “Globo Estrelas” (Stars) award for the titles they won (including the Champions League): Nuno Mendes (24-year-old left-back), Vitinha (26-year-old midfielder), and João Neves (21-year-old midfielder). They were joined by Gonçalo Ramos (25-year-old striker, now at AC Milan). Meanwhile, Luis Campos, PSG’s football advisor, received the “Globo Impacto Mundial” (Global Impact) award.
These are fine awards, even if they are primarily honorary. Ultimately, titles won as a team matter most. Still, it is gratifying to be honored in this way; it serves as recognition of the work accomplished. We can only congratulate the Portuguese contingent at PSG and highlight their contribution to the club—both the players and Luis Campos.
