Having fallen too far short of the level required to play for PSG, Kimpembe had secured this move as a way to revitalize his career. He leaves after logging 695 minutes of play for the Qatari club, and his future remains uncertain. One hopes he already has some leads, even if a return to the highest level of European football seems unlikely.
He remains a highly experienced and combative player, so offers may well come his way. The former PSG academy graduate can be counted on to fight to return to peak fitness. However, it is clear that his injuries have dealt a major blow to his career.
