The match ended in a 1-6 Parisian victory (video summary Saint-Etienne/PSG). The victory enabled 28-year-old Fabian Ruiz to set a new unbeaten record. Indeed, the Spaniard is unbeaten in his last 49 Ligue 1 matches. He becomes the record holder in this respect, surpassing Marquinhos and his 48 games without defeat between 2014 and 2016.

Ruiz is disliked, criticized and frustrated, but he’s a valuable player. The Spaniard runs a lot and his touch on the ball is silky smooth. He sometimes lacks bite and technical quality in the final pass, but if you look at his games in depth, you can see that he’s still very important in the Parisian midfield. He hasn’t lost a game for PSG in 49 matches. If his presence alone is not enough to explain this record, it cannot be denied that when he is there, PSG at least have the merit of never losing. His day-to-day work is also to be commended.
