Achraf Hakimi is a key figure for Paris Saint-Germain, and continues to impress. Against Salzburg on December 10, the 26-year-old right-back equalled a record and is now part of Red and Blue history. The Moroccan now has 24 assists to his name, making him the defender with the most in the 21st century, on a par with a certain Scherrer Maxwell.
“24 – Achraf Hakimi now has 24 assists with @PSG_inside in all competitions, equalling Maxwell as the defender with the most assists for the club in the 21st century. A real treat.“
Decisive against Salzburg, Achraf Hakimi provided his 5th and 6th assists of the season in all competitions. The former gave the Parisians the lead, while the latter sealed a 0-3 draw. In both cases, he was instrumental in the first goals of the season for Gonçalo Ramos and Désiré Doué (also his 1st goal for PSG and in the Champions League).
As a reminder, it took Maxwell five seasons to reach this milestone, while Achraf Hakimi has only been here since 2021, which accentuates the phenomenal performance of the player who will most certainly go first in the coming weeks.
Currently 21st in the club’s all-time top scorers’ chart (dominated by Angel Di Maria), Achraf Hakimi is just two points behind 20th-placed Jérémy Menez.
There’s no doubt that Achraf Hakimi is one of PSG’s star performers this season. Solid in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, the Moroccan is one of the best full-backs in the world today.
