This Friday, Luis de la Fuente, the head coach of the Spanish national team, announced his squad for the October international break, which includes matches against Georgia (October 11) and Bulgaria (October 14) in UEFA European Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. The only Spanish player at PSG, Fabián Ruiz (a 29-year-old midfielder), was not called up to the national team.
This isn’t a major surprise; Ruiz has been experiencing some discomfort recently, including during the match against FC Barcelona this week. Rest is clearly the best course of action. Let’s hope it’s not a serious muscle injury.
