This Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain (3rd) faces Sporting Lisbon (14th) at the Estádio José Alvalade for Matchday 7 of the 2025-2026 Champions League (kick-off at 9 pm, CET). This morning, RMC Sport confirmed the likely PSG lineup, with coach Luis Enrique reportedly choosing Ilya Zabarnyi (23 years old) at right-back.

All the major French media outlets are suggesting this possibility, and it’s plausible. It was the formation chosen in the second half against Lille last Friday (3-0), and it was a success. However, football is far from simple. The opponent is different, and so is the situation. It shouldn’t be forgotten that Zabarnyi has also struggled in this position before. Against Sporting, a team full of intensity and energy, there may be some doubts.
Warren Zaïre-Emery (19 years old) could well continue at right-back. Senny Mayulu (19 years old) is struggling a bit at the moment, so Désiré Doué (20 years old) could play in midfield alongside Bradley Barcola (23 years old), who starts in attack. It’s difficult to be certain. Coach Luis Enrique has instilled a great deal of fluidity in his squad. Even with numerous absences, there are several options. We’ll have to wait until tonight for confirmation.
