Warren Zaïre-Emery, the 19-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, spoke to reporters in the mixed zone after the 2-1 defeat against Sporting Lisbon this Tuesday at the Estádio José Alvalade in Matchday 7 of the 2025-2026 Champions League.
Zaïre-Emery: “Football is an unfair sport.”
A tough defeat to swallow?
“It’s a pretty frustrating match because we dominated, we had the ball, we created chances, and in the end, as you said, we didn’t win tonight.
How do you explain it?
That’s football, football is an unfair sport. Sometimes you’ll have a bad game and win, and sometimes you’ll play the best game of your life, but you’ll lose.” These are situations that happen, and as I said, it’s the little details that make the difference.
Zaire-Emery: “This will help us going forward.”
A match to learn from?
Every match is valuable. We learn from every match, we try to analyze what we can do better and what we did less well. So, I would say yes, this will help us going forward. And we will always give our all to win, to win every possible match.
