This Saturday, as part of Matchday 7 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain (6th) will face Strasbourg (11th) at the Stade de la Meinau (kick-off at 5:15 PM, CET). The referee will be assisted by Erwan Finjean and Valentin Evrard. Guillaume Paradis will serve as the fourth official, while Mathieu Vernice and Hamid Guenaoui will handle video assistance.

Yellow cards –

With Mr. Delajod officiating, one can expect yellow cards to be handed out at a “normal” rate during the match. While the national average per game is 3.53 (standard deviation of 0.39), Saturday’s referee has averaged 3.60 yellow cards per match over his Ligue 1 career (according to Transfermarkt figures). Let us hope this approach involves player protection and open communication.

Straight red cards –

The referee for this Saturday is slightly less severe when it comes to straight red cards. Delajod has averaged 0.17 sendings-off per match in his career, matching the national average of 0.17 (standard deviation of 0.07). He strikes a balance: neither turning a blind eye to misconduct or poor behavior nor handing out sanctions indiscriminately. Second yellow cards –

Willy Delajod has a relative tendency to send off a player following an initial yellow card in a Ligue 1 match. While the national average stands at 0.09 (standard deviation of 0.03), he sits at 0.11. Even though his overall yellow card count isn’t particularly high, this is a statistic worth paying close attention to.

Penalties –

Finally, regarding penalties, the referee officiating on Saturday is well above the average, awarding 0.42 penalties per match, compared to the Ligue 1 average of 0.34 (standard deviation of 0.08).
