On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain played their final match of the Champions League group stages against VfB Stuttgart (1-4 video highlights Stuttgart/PSG). A well-deserved qualification for PSG, despite their poor start to the competition. Speaking to PSG TV, Vitinha, the Parisian club’s 24-year-old midfielder, spoke of his side’s qualification.
Vitinha “We had a very good first half”.
“We’re happy, we’re very pleased. We feel we did a good job. It was a very good game from us, with a real collective effort. We had a very good first half and I think that makes the difference, it helps a lot. We could have scored more, but four is good. In the second half, we had a few more balls and that’s normal, but we played a complete game.
Vitinha “we knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game.”
It’s always better to play and win. We played a very good game and we want to take advantage of that. But you have to say that from the result it looks like an easy game, that they weren’t a good team, but that’s not true. If you look at Stuttgart’s results and matches, we analyzed the team carefully, and we knew it wouldn’t be an easy game. They’re a very good team, with a lot of pressure and a lot of possession. So a very good team, but we knew how to make the game easy for ourselves.”
