Since 2011, RFI and France 24 have been awarding the Marc-Vivien Foé prize to the best African player in Ligue 1 who has played at least 15 league games this season. The trophy will be awarded by a jury of 100 journalists specializing in French and African soccer, from all media (radio, television, print and internet). On Wednesday, the 11 nominees for the 2025 edition were unveiled, including a Paris Saint-Germain player: Achraf Hakimi, 26-year-old right-back. The trophy will be awarded on May 12, 2025.
Les nommés :
Himad Abdelli (Angers).
Eliesse Ben Seghir (AS Monaco).
Lamine Camara (AS Monaco).
Habib Diarra (Strasbourg).
Yahia Fofana (Angers).
Amine Gouiri (OM).
Evann Guessand (OGC Nice).
Achraf Hakimi (PSG).
Moussa Niakhaté (OL).
Moses Simon (FC Nantes).
Abdoulaye Touré (Le Havre).
Hamed J Traoré (Auxerre).
A logical presence for Hakimi, often impressive with PSG. Even so, it’s hard to say he’ll be able to hold his own against such stiff competition.
