Ousmane Dembélé, the 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward, had to leave the pitch during the match against Ukraine on Friday evening (2026 World Cup qualifiers) after coming on as a substitute at halftime for Désiré Doué (who had suffered a knock). He was forced off due to a problem with his right hamstring. He underwent further tests, and the results were released on Saturday by journaliste Fabrice Hawkins.
“A major blow for PSG. Ousmane Dembélé will miss the first Champions League match against Atalanta and the crucial Ligue 1 clash against Marseille.
❗️Ousmane Dembélé’s expected recovery time is estimated at around 6 weeks. Désiré Doué is already ruled out for the match against Atalanta.”
Unfortunately, there is little doubt here, and Dembélé is expected to miss more than a month. A major blow for the player and PSG, with important matches coming up. Including the start of the Champions League, as well as the away match in Barcelona on October 1st. We know coach Luis Enrique, he won’t make a big deal of it. There are some issues within the squad. It is, however, a real problem.
