Paris Saint-Germain defeated Olympique de Marseille 5-0 (video highlights PSG/OM) this Sunday at the Parc des Princes in Matchday 21 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. Unfortunately, the chants, tifos, flares, and banners prompted a reaction from the Professional Football League (LFP) against the Parisian supporters. The LFP’s disciplinary committee decided to impose a two-match closure of the Auteuil stand, effective this evening, ahead of the match against Metz on Saturday.
The behavior of the Paris Saint-Germain supporters included the widespread use of pyrotechnics, the use of a laser pointer, and verbal and visual displays, resulting in a temporary interruption of the match.
The Auteuil stand at the Parc des Princes will be partially closed for two matches, and a fine of €10,000 will be imposed.
The sanction takes effect immediately. “
We expected the LFP to come down hard, and they certainly did. We can still question its long-term effectiveness, since other matches haven’t been stopped for similar chants. Sanctioning once in a while, without any dialogue throughout the year, unfortunately won’t lead to significant change. But we knew the Parc des Princes had gone a bit too far.”
