Pablo Sarabia, a 33-year-old midfielder who played for Paris Saint-Germain between 2019 and 2023 and now plays for Al-Arabi SC, still follows his former club closely. Speaking to Foot Mercato, he even shared his feelings after PSG’s Champions League victory last May.
What was your reaction when PSG won the Champions League?
I was very happy, really happy for PSG, because when I was there, I felt good. We tried to win the Champions League, we reached the final, it was very tough because we lost to Bayern Munich. Last year, I spoke with Luis Enrique, with the staff, and with everyone who works there to show them how happy I was that they won the Champions League.
They worked very hard, always with the same goal. I was also happy for the president (Nasser), who is a wonderful person. They all deserved to win.
How do you assess your experience at Paris Saint-Germain?
I was very happy there. I’m glad I spent time there because I played with many players who are very important in the world of football. I have many friends there. The fans are incredible. I had a great time with my wife and my mother.
I felt that the fans were truly behind Paris Saint-Germain. And that’s why, when you’re at a club like that, you’ll do everything for the club. I was very happy and I have many memories. I’ve cherished the moments I spent there.
For any player who has played for PSG, the victory last May remains a special moment. Everyone knew the importance of this trophy for the capital club, which had never won it in its history. Today, the capital club is considered one of the best in the world and has lived up to this status by establishing itself among the elite.
Every player who has worn the Red and Blue colors cherishes a special memory of that time. Sarabia is one of them, even though he left the club prematurely. He remains a very fond memory for Parisian supporters after four years playing at the Parc des Princes.
