Here’s our saga. The 5 good reasons to follow a match (with some adaptations). We’ll take a look at what’s attractive before each match, with a mix of seriousness and humor. Mind you, this is not an exhaustive tour of the subject. We continue here with the match between Paris Saint-Germain (1st in Ligue 1) and Reims (11th) this Saturday at the Stade de France, as part of the final of the Coupe de France 2024-2025 (kick-off 9pm, CET).
5 – Reunite with Moscardo…maybe.
Gabriel Moscardo, a 19-year-old midfielder, was loaned out by PSG last summer following his arrival from Corinthians. This final could be the opportunity to see him play. Except that he gets very little playing time at Reims. Partly because of injury, and partly because of his participation in the Copa America U20, which he won with Brazil.
But also simply because he doesn’t play much at Reims. So nothing’s certain, even if the play-off against Metz could bring some rotation.
4 – Preparing for the Champions League final.
It’s impossible not to have it in mind: PSG face Inter Milan in the Champions League final next Saturday. This decisive encounter against Reims should serve as an opportunity to prepare with rhythm and confidence. We therefore expect the Parisians to be very serious and some of them to get some game time in order to arrive in good shape.
3 – Which attack?
Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia seem to have established themselves as first-choice strikers, while 3rd place is a little less clear-cut. The competition is fierce between Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola. Gonçalo Ramos could have something to say about a slightly different style. He will be one of the most eagerly awaited choices for this final and the next.
2- An extra trophy.
We’ve already mentioned the Champions League, but the French Cup is obviously not to be overlooked. It’s a title up for grabs and therefore not to be missed. We’ll just have to concentrate on the match and celebrate if we win.
1 – PSG go down in history.
Once they’ve won the Coupe de France, PSG could turn their attention to the Champions League final. It’s a 2024-2025 exercise that could take a very important place in history. There’s the hope of winning every possible title in a single season. It would be exceptional, and we need to savor every moment of this superb year, with a strong collective reinforced by the desire and talent of its individuals.
