Mathis Jangeal, a 17-year-old midfielder who came up through the Paris Saint-Germain youth system, has a contract that expires in June 2026. This situation presents him with a crucial decision: a new contract in Paris or a move away. Le Parisien reported on Sunday that he is leaning towards the latter, with a German club ready to welcome him.

Is PSG’s offer outdated?

Sought after by several clubs, the 17-year-old midfielder, to whom Paris has offered his first professional contract, now seems more likely to leave than extend his stay.

Germany appears to be a preferred destination: according to our sources, Hamburg hopes to make a convincing offer to secure his signature. The current 13th-placed Bundesliga side is one of the most serious contenders.

This credible report aligns with recent rumors. A move to Germany is almost a classic move for young Ligue 1 talents seeking professional playing time. Hamburg could be an interesting stepping stone.

However, be warned, nothing is certain with rumors. The transfer window can change quickly, especially regarding that crucial first professional contract. We’ll have to wait for confirmation. But seeing Jangeal stay at PSG seems unlikely.
