After a disappointing 3-0 Club World Cup final defeat by Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain’s 21-year-old defender Lucas Beraldo was rumored to be on his way out by L’Equipe immediately after the match. This rumor was denied today by the player’s entourage, as reported by Le Parisien.
“We’ll also have to deal with lesser-used players (Hernandez, Beraldo, Lee, Ramos…), some of whom may be keen to leave. In the case of Lucas Beraldo, the club and his entourage assure us that he hasn’t asked to leave”.
It makes no sense for the rumour to emerge just after the final defeat. But on the other hand, some of the matches could only confirm the lower level of a Willian Pacho or Marquinhos.
Today, it seems obvious that the French capital needs to strengthen its central defense in order to compensate for possible injuries to its first-choice players. However, this does not necessarily mean the departure of Beraldo, who has plenty of room for improvement given his young age.
