Julian Alvarez, the 26-year-old Argentinian forward for Atletico Madrid (under contract until 2030), was linked with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024 when he left Manchester City. But the idea of a transfer to Paris has recently resurfaced. Mundo Deportivo reported on Thursday that PSG is ready to make a substantial offer.
It’s not impossible, as Alvarez is an excellent player who could be a good fit for Luis Enrique’s PSG with his versatility and team-oriented approach. He could also leave Atletico Madrid this summer. However, this is far from certain, and a price tag of €200 million has been mentioned.
That’s a sum that could deter any club. PSG may have other priorities, and this persistent rumor without any confirmation doesn’t inspire confidence. We’re all too familiar with these kinds of transfers that often lead nowhere.
