Lucas Chevalier, the 23-year-old goalkeeper for Lille (under contract until 2027) and the French national team, has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain in the transfer market. L’Equipe even reported on Saturday evening that PSG is making very concrete progress. And quickly.

“This Saturday, only a few details remained to be settled between the northern club and PSG.”

“The capital club, which has been interested in Lucas Chevalier for several months, has taken concrete steps to sign the goalkeeper, who is under contract with LOSC until 2027. Discussions began several days ago regarding a five-year contract for the French national team’s second goalkeeper. An agreement has even been reached in principle between the 23-year-old player and the French champions. On Saturday, only a few details remained to be settled between the northern club and PSG.

This sequence should naturally open negotiations with Lille. The Parisian leaders are not going into this new stage blindly: they are aware of Olivier Létang’s demands and firmness when it comes to selling his best players. It will take at least €40 million for the Lille president to agree to let his goalkeeper go. This sum has already been discussed internally in Paris and should not pose any problem.

Several clubs are already interested in Donnarumma.

Lille is expecting its goalkeeper to leave and has already begun exploring foreign options to replace him. Manchester United and Manchester City, who were already interested in early June, are still in the running to sign Donnarumma. Paris wants to secure Chevalier’s signature first before giving the green light for its European champion to leave.”

There is still some caution, even if it is a new confirmation from the media. It is still only a rumor, nothing official. So, nothing concrete. We still hope that the sports newspaper’s insistence and the details provided are based on solid evidence. Even if this does not provide a guarantee, as the transfer market can change very quickly.

Things are busy at the moment, but we can hope for more clarity soon. Whether it’s a denial or a confirmation. Chevalier could be a new signing for PSG; he has a certain quality and the potential for a great career. And he has the number one spot in the French national team to aim for. However, it’s important to remember that other outcomes are still possible for everyone, including an extension for Donnarumma.
