The information fits into a saga that has already been unfolding for some time. Liverpool have been following Bradley Barcola for several weeks and have also shown interest in Ibrahim Mbaye. The prospect of both players leaving for the Reds therefore does not come out of nowhere.
The main new element concerns the reported overall fee of €175 million and the supposed willingness of PSG to consider a deal at that level. That figure should still be treated with caution, as there is no stronger confirmation at this stage. PSG’s demands for Barcola have long been particularly high, while Mbaye also commands significant market value.
Arsenal’s involvement in the Barcola situation could ultimately have an impact on negotiations. If the Gunners’ interest materialises, this competition would logically give PSG more leverage to stand firm on their terms.
