David Boly, a 17-year-old right-back who came through the Paris Saint-Germain academy, has an academy contract that expires in 2027. The time for a major decision regarding his first professional contract is fast approaching. According to Le Parisien, FC Barcelona is trying to influence PSG’s plans.
“David Boly embodies the future.”
“Under an academy contract until 2027, he is already generating significant interest, particularly from Barça, who have been closely monitoring his progress for several months. So far, the Parisian club has made its position clear: David Boly embodies the future.”
This is a fairly credible statement, as this newspaper is relatively reliable when it comes to PSG’s young players. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Barça and other major clubs try their luck with Boly, a consistently impressive player. But precisely because of this, Paris should make his professional contract a priority. His career looks very promising, and the idea should be to spend at least a good portion of it in the capital.
However, this isn’t a given. We know that this first professional contract is a sensitive moment. Players can listen to other offers, with varying promises. PSG needs to avoid being overtaken by properly supporting their homegrown talent.
