Eli Junior Kroupi—a 20-year-old forward developed at Lorient, currently at Bournemouth (under contract until 2030) and a member of the France U21 squad—is among the players linked to Paris Saint-Germain for the transfer window. PSG Inside Actus reported this Sunday that the player’s intentions are clear, as is his club’s stance.
“Eli Junior Kroupi would like to come.”
Unlike Yan Diomande, whose position has shifted several times in recent days, Eli Junior Kroupi has only one priority: joining Paris Saint-Germain!
“The Cherries do not intend to lower their demands.”
The real issue lies not with the player, but with Bournemouth, who are remaining inflexible. The English club has no desire to sell their forward unless an exceptional offer of €150 million is made. Although Bournemouth is open to discussing a payment plan spread over two or three years, the Cherries do not intend to lower their asking price.
Meanwhile, FC Barcelona 🇪🇸 and a German club 🇩🇪 have also made inquiries. However, faced with the requested fee, both suitors quickly abandoned the idea.
It is certainly not impossible; Kroupi has every reason to be tempted by PSG. It is a fantastic squad where players seem to genuinely enjoy playing, and they win trophies. Furthermore, several players have seen their careers propelled toward national team selection—including the senior France squad—after playing in Paris. For the Parisian side, this highly talented and versatile player would be an excellent signing.
However, it is precisely because the France U21 international possesses such great qualities that Bournemouth has no intention of selling him. The English club is enjoying a strong run of form and will compete in the Europa League with ambitions of a successful campaign. As with other transfer sagas, an exceptional offer could change the situation. Yet, the Parisian club has been avoiding exorbitant spending of late. Furthermore, we have already seen that Bournemouth can play hardball in negotiations, as demonstrated by the Ilya Zabarnyi deal last summer. For the moment, a transfer seems unlikely. Not to mention that the player’s stance—which could work in PSG’s favor—remains uncertain.
