“Unless there is a totally irrational or completely irresistible offer, Laciné Megnan won’t be leaving. It is gratifying that the biggest French club—and one of the biggest in Europe, if not the world—is looking at our youth academy and showing interest in our player.
Nicollin: “He won’t be spending his 20th birthday with us.”
But it’s not just PSG; top Spanish, German, and English clubs are also focused on him. Last year, I received a €10 million offer from Strasbourg, a Chelsea affiliate club. What is certain is that he won’t be spending his 20th birthday with us.”
The message is clear: Montpellier is not opening the door for Megnan-Pavé to leave this summer. The plan is to gradually give him professional playing time and see him develop within the squad in Ligue 2, with the hope that he can help the team secure a return to the top flight soon. However, Nicollin hasn’t completely ruled out a transfer; it all depends on what is deemed “irresistible.” By highlighting the interest from numerous clubs, the Montpellier president is also applying a bit of pressure.
