It’s contract extension season at Paris Saint-Germain, at least in the media. The upcoming extension of João Neves (21-year-old midfielder, currently under contract until 2029) has been discussed recently and confirmed this Monday by journalist Nicolo Schira. The same is true for Lucas Beraldo (22-year-old defender, contract until 2028), who was also mentioned a few days ago.

This is a credible announcement, which aligns with recent rumors, but we remain cautious until it is officially confirmed. Especially since some media outlets and journalists sometimes jump to conclusions a little too quickly in order to “get involved” in a story. This isn’t necessarily the case here.
Neves’ extension would make sense to reward his performances and deter potential suitors. As for Beraldo, it’s a way of investing in the future. He remains a backup to the excellent Willian Pacho (24 years old), but he’s putting in some good performances and still has plenty of time to develop and become more formidable in duels. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with these possible contract extensions.
