Carlos Soler, the 28-year-old midfielder who arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 from Valencia with a contract until 2027, failed to impress on the pitch and was loaned to West Ham for the 2024-2025 season. He has now returned to Paris, with a solution to be found for his future. Nacho Sanchis has announced that the player is finally close to joining Real Sociedad. The Spanish club must sell for the deal to go through.
“The parties are very close to agreeing on Carlos Soler’s transfer to Real Sociedad!
To finalize the deal, the Spanish club’s management must sell Sadiq! This is a critical situation for Valencia, but also for Real Sociedad. KEY TIMES
Nacho Sanchis”
The Carlos Soler case is at a turning point. Recruited by Paris Saint-Germain in 2022, the Spanish midfielder has never fully found his place in Luis Enrique’s squad. Real Sociedad wants to attract him to strengthen their midfield, but must imperatively reduce their wage bill before finalizing the signing. The sale of Umar Sadiq (27), recruited for €20 million but not very convincing in San Sebastian, is therefore a condition of the transfer. This scenario illustrates the financial fragility of many Spanish clubs, forced to sell before investing. Time is running out for the player and for PSG, as the transfer window will soon close.
