Lucas Chevalier, 23-year-old goalkeeper for Lille (contract until 2027) and the French national team, is reportedly close to Paris Saint-Germain in this transfer window to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma (26, contract until 2026, extension blocked). Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed this Monday that PSG is very close to finalizing the transfer. The matter is currently being discussed between the presidents of each club.
“Paris Saint-Germain is now close to reaching a complete agreement for Lucas Chevalier! An agreement has been reached with the goalkeeper and an agreement is in the final stages between the clubs with Nasser Al Khelaifi, on the matter with Olivier Letang.”
Everyone is in agreement regarding this transfer, which remains a surprise since it was thought that Donnarumma would extend his contract with PSG. But, for the moment, it appears that the blockage to an extension has been too great. While Paris may have seen an opportunity with Chevalier, who is closing in on a number 1 spot in the French national team.
Be careful, there hasn’t been an official confirmation yet, and a surprise could happen quickly. However, the arrival of the Lille goalkeeper is looming. It could even become official rather quickly.
