On the France TV set during Roland-Garros, Warren Zaïre-Emery, 20, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Bradley Barcola, 23, Paris Saint-Germain forward, and Ousmane Dembélé, 29, Paris Saint-Germain forward, discussed their connection to Paris, European ambitions, and the French national team.
Zaïre-Emery: “I know all the chants”
“As a Parisian, you know, I know all the chants. I grew up here in Paris. I joined the club when I was 8 or 9 years old. I went through all the levels, from the youth academy to the academy and the youth teams. Today, being in the squad, with these players and this staff, is just magnificent. I’m living it to the fullest.”
Barcola: “We hope to bring it back too”
“Yeah, we’re going to do the work to try and get it. We’re going to work hard, just like we did this season.” We hope to bring it back too.
Dembélé: “This year is truly exceptional.”
Yes, this year is truly exceptional, especially winning the Champions League with PSG. Doing it back-to-back is incredible. And there’s something extra special about playing for the French national team. When you play in a World Cup, it’s truly incredible. It’s not every day you get to play in a World Cup. For me, it’ll be my third, and frankly, you have to make the most of every moment. We have an incredible team, but we’re going to stay focused. We know this competition is difficult, so we’re going to prepare for it.
