Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 23-year-old SSC Napoli striker under contract until 2027, was the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club didn’t open the door despite pressure from his entourage. There is a new Parisian attempt this winter. Napoli coach Antonio Conte confirmed the player’s desire to leave on Saturday.
“The club and his agent will now find a solution.”
“Kvaratskhelia has asked to leave the club. I spoke to Khvicha and he confirmed his intention to leave the club immediately. I tried to convince Kvaratskhelia to stay, but he decided to leave and try a new chapter. The club and his agent will now find a solution… I can’t keep Kvara here if he doesn’t want to stay.
I’m disappointed. It was a thunderclap. I’m taking a step back. I don’t want him to think I chained him here… We’re losing an important player.”
It’s a huge step forward in this dossier, with official confirmation of Kvaratskhelia’s desire to leave, and what’s more, the door is wide open for negotiation. The coach no longer wishes to retain him, so we can only hope that an agreement will be reached. Although it won’t be easy either, let’s not forget that PSG may have some strong competitors. But there is every reason to hope for his arrival, possibly quite soon.
