PSG confirmed their rise to prominence over the last few weeks with a fine performance, taking all 3 points. This maintains their lead over OM, who have also shown that their good form could well last. A win at Rennes leaves the club in trouble and keeps Monaco, who missed out at Nantes and could only salvage a draw.

Behind them, Lille also missed out, but at Auxerre and despite a 56th-minute red card. Lyon did not benefit from this poor performance, losing at Brest just when it was time to put themselves in a strong position in the race for Europe. Nice did just that after a spectacular match in Reims. Lens, for their part, took advantage of the situation to climb back up the table thanks to a logical victory at Le Havre.

The big result on the maintenance front went to Angers, with a win at Montpellier providing some breathing space. While Montpellier continue to slide towards relegation.
