At 6.45pm on Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain faced Stade Brestois in the first leg of their Champions League play-off (0-3). Speaking to PSG TV, Vitinha, the Parisian club’s 24-year-old midfielder, reflected on this important success.
Vitinha “It’s important to say that it’s not over.”
“It’s very good. I think we played a very complete game. I’m really happy, and I’m proud of this team because we made the necessary efforts. We knew it could make the difference and in my opinion, the defensive efforts made the difference. Offensively, we already know there’s a lot of quality with these 3 goals scored.
It’s important to say that it’s not over yet. We can expect a tough match at the Parc des Princes, as we know that this Brest team never gives up. So we’ll have to make the same defensive efforts, because as I said, offensively we’ll get there.”
A fine first leg for PSG, who proved unstoppable against a Brest side who were unable to get the upper hand in the match. Inevitably favourites, the club from the capital confirmed this status very quickly in this match. Their domination was constant and, in the end, there was very little room for doubt.
All that remains now is for PSG to confirm their status next Wednesday at the Parc des Princes and book their place in the last 16. The Parisians are off to a good start, but in this competition you have to approach each match with a great deal of seriousness, so let’s hope that’s the case on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes.
