The feeling is that we were there. You have to accept that PSG are a team that has the ball. We want to try and win them back, but it’s always difficult. I think we’ve managed to create some great things, and in particular offensively we’ve managed to understand the movements and spaces we need to take to get closer to goal.
We managed to create set-pieces to try and score, but it was too difficult. In the end, we weren’t able to convert our chances and they finally scored from that situation.

Did you tell your players that they weren’t “killer” enough?
Yes, exactly. During the week, we said that this was the kind of match where I think you have to score 2 goals. I know I shouldn’t say that. I know that when you’re good, you can create 5, 6, 7, 8 scoring options.
I have the feeling that we managed to create enough scoring opportunities, but we need to be stronger in attack and in defensive positions. Against this kind of team, if you miss this kind of situation, it’s impossible to win.

You’re ready in arms with Luis Enrique. What’s your take on his work?
I think everyone can see that. Luis Enrique and PSG are in a very good period. They’re very dynamic, they’re scoring a lot of goals and a lot of the players are in great shape. They’ve got a great squad, you can see the squad that started and the squad that finished, so of course it’s a good time for them. I think they’re going to try to do very well in Europe.
What did Luis Enrique say to you?
He told me it was very difficult to win against us. I told him it was still a win for them.
