Thiago Scuro, General Manager of AS Monaco, spoke to L’Equipe newspaper in an interview published on Monday. The 16 points between them have a simple explanation, according to him: the level of PSG.

This is without doubt the best PSG has ever had, with clear concepts and no defeats in L1. Given our budget and the make-up of our squad, competing with them would have been very ambitious. Marseille also had a good season, with major investments over the summer and winter. They’ve taken on experienced players, and they don’t have to play in European competitions like we did last year. It’s more comfortable.”
Careful before attempting a debate around Scuro’s strongest-ever PSG announcement. It’s very strong collectively at the moment, but there have been other great teams with immense talent.
