This Wednesday evening, Stade Briochin (N2), the youngest club in France, played host to Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France. And to say the least, the Saint-Brieuc players put in a fine performance, in keeping with their progress in the Cup. Unfortunately for them, the players from the capital club are a step above them in terms of level, and the final score is heavy (0-7, video highlights Stade Briochin/PSG) in favor of the Rouge et Bleu. Christophe Kerbrat, the Breton club’s defender, spoke to beIN SPORTS about this magical evening for them:
Kerbrat “The staircase was too high today, but we made it through the course.”
Did you have a good run?
Yes, the 7-0 scoreline is heavy. The staircase was too high today, but we’ve been on the right track for a while now. We fought with our weapons, we didn’t give up. The second half was too tough for us.
Do you agree that this PSG team is really strong?
Yes, that’s my opinion. We’ve seen a lot of them on TV, and now we’re seeing them in front of us. It’s the kind of soccer we like, with a lot of simplicity and movement. For us today, the step was too high.
