On Wednesday at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain lost 0-1 to Liverpool in the last 16 of the Champions League 2024-2025 (return on Tuesday March 11). We then asked our readers, as they do after every match from now on, to vote for the best Parisian of the match. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24-year-old striker) came out on top.
An understandable success, as Kvaratkshelia had been on the move for a long time and had even scored a superb goal that had been disallowed for slight offside. Then it was Alisson Becker (32-year-old goalkeeper) who was impressive in preventing the Georgian from scoring.
But there were other strong contenders for first place, and one might even have thought that the votes would be a little closer between him, Vitinha (25-year-old midfielder), Ousmane Dembélé (27-year-old striker), João Neves (20-year-old midfielder) and perhaps Willian Pacho (23-year-old defender). Above all, PSG were very impressive collectively against a great team.
We’re surprised to see a vote for Gianluigi Donnarumma (26-year-old goalkeeper), perhaps a bit of humor?
We’d like to thank you for your votes, which will henceforth be organized after each official match. We would also like to point out that the podiums from the player of the match elections will be used to elect the player of the month.
