Randal Kolo Muani, the 26-year-old striker on loan from Paris Saint-Germain to Juventus Turin for the second half of the 2024-2025 season, spoke to La Repubblica after being voted Serie A player of the month. The French international took the opportunity to talk frankly about his unsuccessful time at PSG.
Kolo Muani “It’s lucky to have a coach like him.”
“Why did I have difficulties at PSG?
A Frenchman in Paris, who on top of that cost 90 million euros, has enormous pressure and not everyone is capable of handling it. I didn’t succeed. I had opportunities and I didn’t seize them. It hurts my heart, but I’ll say it again: that’s soccer, no regrets.
Luis Enrique?
Our relationship was very good. He’s a great coach and gave me a lot of advice. I’m lucky to have a coach like him.
Didn’t he play me a lot?
I was the one who went out on the pitch, not him. He gave me opportunities”, comments relayed by Eurosport.
It’s refreshing to see a player who’s been in trouble talking like this. We often see complaints and responsibilities placed on the shoulders of others. Here, Kolo Muani fully assumes his responsibilities: he was unable to impose himself. In a context that was not easy, of course. But that shouldn’t be exaggerated.
The striker had the opportunity to play and the daily competition in training. Except that he failed to convince coach Luis Enrique. It happens. But that doesn’t stop the striker saying good things about the Spaniard, something he also appreciates.
Could he return to PSG for a second chance? It’s not impossible with that kind of talk, but it would still be a surprise.
