Here’s our saga. The 5 good reasons to follow a match (with some adaptations). We’ll take a look at what’s attractive before each match, with a mix of seriousness and humor. Mind you, this is not an exhaustive tour of the subject. We continue here with Paris Saint-Germain’s match this Saturday against Angers (14th) at the Parc des Princes as part of Matchday 28 of Ligue 1 2024-2025 (kick-off 5pm, CET).
5 – Time for the youngsters?
With the title all but clinched and the Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa just around the corner (April 9 and 15), some of the key players could do with some time off. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see the Titis express themselves a little, although coach Luis Enrique will of course be keeping a competitive team on the pitch. It’s also important to bear in mind that the “youngsters” who are likely to play are very good players.
4 – Angers plays for survival.
For a promise of pace and intensity, you can count on an Angers team that has no time for sightseeing in Paris. 14th-placed Angers are just 3 points ahead of 16th-placed Le Havre, who are in the play-off position. We have to fight for precious points.
3 – Preparing for the Champions League.
PSG need to arrive at their Champions League quarter-final with confidence and rhythm. That means putting in a good performance this Saturday, with concentration, effort and collective effort. There’s no question of slacking off.
2 – Ce PSG est un plaisir à voir jouer.
Même s’il est parfois un peu moins en forme, ce PSG a clairement progressé et est aujourd’hui une très belle équipe de football. Non seulement dans les efforts et les idées, mais aussi dans la qualité technique bien sûr. C’est un bonheur de voir les Parisiens déployer autant d’énergie et de jeu. Il faut en profiter et espérer que cela continue.
1 – The championship title up for grabs.
It’s simple: PSG will be champions with a win, or even just a draw. Of course, with their lead in the league, there’s no particular tension. But it’s still an important moment in the season. We shouldn’t neglect a championship title, especially one so handsomely won. Even if the big celebrations will have to wait until the end of the season.
