Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke at a press conference this Thursday ahead of tomorrow’s Ligue 1 Matchday 2 clash with Angers (kick-off at 8:45 p.m., live on Ligue1+). The Spaniard also gave an interview to PSG TV, where he highlighted the importance of the squad as a whole and reflected on the team’s return to the Parc des Princes.
Luis Enrique: “It’s important to have the collective.”
Is it essential to have all the players fully engaged?
“Of course, it’s important to have the collective — even more so in these first few weeks. Our goal is to improve physically, tactically, and technically. You need the right conditions to achieve that.”
You’re about to return to the Parc des Princes.
“Coming back to the Parc is always special. It’s beautiful to play on our pitch again, in front of our supporters. We have to prepare for the match as we always do. We know how difficult it can be against a team like Angers, who defend well and look to counterattack. It’s a challenge. But we’re happy to be back at the Parc, and we hope we can win.”
What’s the most important thing about this return?
“Someone told me we played 10 games in a row away from home. Coming back to our stadium is very important. We told the new players they’ll experience the Parc — it’s something unique, different from anywhere else. It’s important for them to live it.”
